Summer

trampoline

I love the neighborhood we live in.  We have so many kids on our circle, and I’ve made great friends.  Here are the girls out with some of the neighbor kids jumping on the trampoline.

princess lagoon

At Lagoon, Jossy and I were getting off of the Terror Ride and she saw this princess.  She yells “Oh my gosh!” and excitedly jumped off the ride to go see her.  It was the cutest thing ever.  Grant said he didn’t want his picture with a princess lol!

nathan

Avery is completely smitten with her cousin Nathan.  He is so sweet with her and I think sincerely enjoys playing with her.

lake

My sister Savannah and I took our kids to Pineview to enjoy the sun and water.  They made this big tub.  Savannah was pretty into making it lol!

lake with friends

We also went up to Pineview with a bunch of friends one afternoon this summer.  I’m taking my kids a lot more next year, they loved playing in the sand and water.

lake jossy

Jocelyn’s little body in a swimsuit just kills me!

lagoon

We spent all summer at Lagoon.  It was well worth getting passes.  We have loved going at night especially when Mike gets off work.

lagoon water

The kids always beg to run through the fountains after we have had a long hot day at Lagoon.

jossy sick

I think Jossy swallowed some lake water and had the pukes REALLY bad last week.  Poor thing was miserable.

jossy kaden

We enjoyed going to Trevor’s farewell and listening to him speak.  Kaden and Jossy liked looking at iphones.

grant kindergarten

Grant started Kindergarten and I’m still too emotional to talk about it lol!

You are now 2 1/2 years old.  I feel like I just found out I was pregnant with you and walking around Walmart in disbelief.  Now you are so big and EVERYWHERE!  I love your tiny little body:

jossy 2

You are talking like crazy.  It is amazing how smart you are, and how quickly you pick things up.  Mostly from your siblings.  Avery has been teaching you how to count, and you’re doing great with it.

jossy 3

You love dance class so much it is adorable.  You are constantly dancing around and asking me if today is dance day or not.  You were one of the only girls at your mini recital to get up and dance.  I hope you always love it.

jossy 8

You are funny.  You are quick and witty for a 2 1/2 year old.

Talking on your cell phone

Talking on your cell phone

You can ride a 2 wheeled scooter just as well as your siblings.  People go crazy when you are on one because you’re so good and so tiny!  It looks like a baby riding a scooter.  You want to do everything that the big kids can do.

jossy 5

jossy 7

You love babies!  You have a new nephew and whenever you see him you are so sweet with him and get right up in his face and talk lovingly to him.  You love playing babies.  You have a little stroller and you wrap them up in blankets.  It’s your favorite thing to do at nursery.

jossy 6

You’re a mama’s girl still.  You get nervous when I’m not around and get so sad when I leave.  You tell everyone when they leave “Hugs and kisses!!!”

jossy 4

You are a sweety and I can’t imagine my life without you in it.  You are my sunshine!

You will be turning 5 next month.  We were up in Park City last weekend and drove by the hospital where you were born and I felt like we were just there yesterday meeting you for the first time and falling in love with you.

You are always making silly faces in pictures.  You have a great sense of humor.

friends 2

You are constantly hugging and kissing me.  I love it.  You are so sweet and kind to everyone around you… except your siblings sometimes.  Everyone wants to be your friend and be around you.  You love to sing, and have such a pretty voice.  You love animals, and you love pretending you are a cat or dog with your siblings.  “Hey Jossy, let’s play kitty cats!”  You have a great imagination, and kids love playing with you because of it.

avery friend

You look so much like your birth mother.  We had a great visit with her recently.  She loves you so much.

You are fairly obsessed with your cousin Nathan right now.  It’s adorable.  But you also love all of your cousins.  Liam boy is fairly obsessed with you.

You start soccer again in a couple weeks and dance too.  You have started liking dance more and more and you really enjoy tumbling.  You love riding your scooter “supa fast” but are hesitant to ride your bike without training wheels like your brother does.

You can beat anyone in a game of “memory”.  You’re so smart and are starting to tell me things you remember.  It’s amazing the things you remember from years ago.  Places we have been, people we have met, things we have done.  I love that you are able to speak so clearly with me and with others now.  My favorite things you say lately are “NEVAH!”(never), “Forevah” (forever) and “Shour” (sure).

*You are so innocent and don’t care what anyone thinks of you still.  I’m scared that this attribute will fade away in the next couple years.  You’re so care free.

This was my favorite summer I’ve had in a long time.  We kept so active and all the kids were finally at an age where we could get out and do activities.  No nursing, chasing two 2 year olds, and only one in diapers.  Next summer should be even better!  We had Cherry Hill passes and went at least once or twice a week.  We went to baseball games, festivals, the fair, camping with Flints, on a family trip to The Homestead, soccer games, the Alpine Slide twice, womens football clinic, In N Out 7 peaks party with my brother, the lake, and the park with friends.

September was a fun month.  Hubby and I went to California and saw my family down there.  We went to the beach and relaxed.  I’m thankful for family who watched the kids while we were gone.  Lady turned 4 and we had a little party in the day with her friends which was a blast!  Then we took her to Boondocks that night as a family.  I can’t believe she is 4.  It freaks me out.  My birthday was later that month and Hubby made is really special.  Such a relaxing day and I ate so much food, that whole week actually.  Still trying to recover from it lol.

Fall is here and I’m happy because it’s my favorite season.  We’ve gone to the pumpkin patch and “Scary Hill” for family night which ended up being one of the funnest things we’ve done together as a family.  It was a blast!

Conference was great, and I got to hear a little of it.  Since then, I’ve been reading one conference talk a day to try to catch up on them.

It’s the annual girls weekend trip this weekend and I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!  We’re going to a friend’s cabin, out to eat, a movie and pedicures.  And lots of sleeping.  Oh sleep.  I’ve missed you.

There’s my rare update.

March

14 march twins

14 march

March was a great month.  The weather was amazing on so many days.  We went to the park every single one of those nice days.  It felt like heaven being able to play outside again after so many months inside.  We even got a little sunburned… in March!  I have to chase J around a little on the playground, but Mischief and Lady play so well together and with friends at parks.  I feel so lucky to live in a place where I have friends and family close by so it is never hard to find someone to join us on a park day.

The kids loved St Patricks Day.  We made a trap, and Mischief said to me, “I think we should leave him a message.” So I got a paper and marker and waited while he thought about what to say.  Finally, he decided on “Mischief and Lady are so nice to leprechauns”  On his way to bed he told me, “I’m so excited to catch a leprechaun!  He can sleep in my bed!”  I was so worried they would be sad in the morning, but they were thrilled to find Lucky Charms in the trap, and that the milk magically turned green!  Holidays are way more fun with kids we have found!

I went to St George for a dance competition the end of March.  I love teaching these 5 & 6 year olds.  They are the cutest.  They did really well on their jazz and lyrical routines.  It was fun to get to know the kids parents better, as well as the other teachers better.  These competitions are so long, it made me appreciate my parents even more.  They sat through so many of those while I was growing up!  By Saturday night around 7 we were all a little loopy and were laughing at everything.  So fun.  I also went on a lengthy walk while I was there… on accident.  Anyone who knows this story is laughing right now I’m sure.  I enjoyed having dinner with my sister in law Jan and her darling baby K one night, and had an awesome room at the local Motel 6.  Good times.

Speaking of dance, Lady got her dance pictures taken this past month and its the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.  See:

14 march dance

I told you.

I love that Lady loves to dance.  It’s fun to watch her learn new things and make friends in her class.  We’ve found that she is also very good at soccer, and will sign her up in the fall.  Mischief is excited for Spring soccer.  I love being dance and soccer mom in my minivan, lol, livin the life I always wanted to!

The very end of February was this guy’s birthday:

2012 Family Picture Kira and Mike

I’m so thankful for Hubby and all he does for me and our family.  He works so hard to provide for us, is great with the kids, and is supportive of me and my work and dreams.  We celebrated his big 30th birthday by going to Rodizio Grill for dinner and watching a movie at home.  Thankful for his mom for watching the kids that night.  In March he was also given a raise at his job.  This was a big deal because he wasn’t supposed to get one this year, as he was given a promotion last year, so the promotion was considered an early raise for this year.  If that makes sense.  But his boss has been so impressed with how well he is doing in his new leadership position that he thought it was only fair to award him a raise.  I’m proud of him.  Can’t believe he proposed to me 8 years ago next month.  Time has flown by.

Baby J had another seizure last week, but overall has been doing better.  She still passes out here and there, but not near as much as before.  She is finally sleeping better.  She wakes up once or twice in the night, which I’m totally happy with.  So much better than the 5 times she was waking up for a few months before.  She is running around and wants to do everything her siblings do.  She loves to dance, especially to “Let it Go”.  Surprised?  I think every girl loves that song.  Lady does too, but J is especially obsessed with it.  She dances with her left foot on releve.  always her left.  It is hilarious.  She also tries to do some tumbling tricks which is adorable.  She has such a personality.  She isn’t talking much yet, but she is so smart.  She knows everything we say to her.  “Go get your bottle” “Put this in the trash” “You look so cute in your dress” (She touches her dress and twirls, it’s too cute).  She gives big open mouthed kisses and we are all just so in love with her.  I’rd, m trying to soak up every minute of her babyness (sure it’s a word, right?) because she is most likely our last baby.  Although I do have 6 friends and 1 sister in law all due August – November so we’ll see if that makes me baby hungry, or just relieved to be done!

Lady is doing so well in preschool.  Her speech has come a long way.  It’s fun to see more of her personality now that she can vocalize things.  She is so funny and gets along so well with other kids.  But not so well with her brother still, depending on the day.  She is so protective of J.  She plays with her all day.  I don’t have to worry if J is with Lady.  Lady makes sure that she is safe.  Takes things out of her hands if she thinks it is too small for her, holds her hand going up stairs, chases her around the house and tickles her, and just gives her loves.  She is also very close with her cousin, baby L.  Baby L is obsessed with Lady.  They play really well together.  Lady is a little mother.  Her favorite colors are purple and pink, her favorite food is mac and cheese, favorite movie is Curious George, and her favorite thing to say these days is, “My mommy!” and “Jossy Girl!” oh and of course “ME TOO!!!!” (sounds more like, “Me Shoe”)

Mischief is his same silly, hilarious self.  He is also doing great in school.  He knows his ABC’s, how to count to 20, shapes and how to write some of his letters now.  He LOVES Miss Rachel and has a lot of friends in his class.  He is a social, fun kid.  He says funny things every day, I really need to be better at writing them down.  His favorite color is blue, favorite food is quesadillas, favorite movie is “Mickey’s Spirit” (Lol, a show on Netflix.  It is just a Halloween special, I don’t know why he calls it this.) and his favorite phrase he says these days is, “Easy Peasy!”

March was a great month, I’m looking forward to April!

Kids say the darndest things…

Lady:

She loves the show Despicable Me.  She loves when the little girl sees the unicorn and says “It’s so fluffy I could die!”  So she started calling unicorns “So fluffy I die!”  We were driving in the car in Bountiful and she starts freaking out pointing to the mountains saying, “So fluffy I die!  So fluffy I die!” I couldn’t figure out where she could see a unicorn.  Finally she said, “So fluffy I die…. HOUSE!”  She was referring to the Bountiful temple.  It looked like a unicorn house to her.

She now uses this phrase whenever she is excited for something.  She got a new big girl bed and so she exclaimed “So fluffy I die!” when she saw it.  We bought Mike a pair of running shoes for his birthday.  Lady tells me, “Give to daddy, say Happy Birthday!  He gets it and he’ll say “So fluffy I die!”  Lol!  Hubby knows about the shoes, but hasn’t opened them yet.  I told him when he does open them, he totally has to say so fluffy I die.  Lady will love it!

She is all about Baby J.  She tells her to be “soft” all the time.  And she lays on the floor, pulls J on top of her (with J’s head facing out, looking at the ceiling too) and then rocks her back and forth while saying in a sing song voice “Hugga my Beeeeebbeeeee”

“TORTILLAS!”  While shaking her bum

“I love you SOOOOO much!”  Melts me every time.

Lady has some speech delays.  She is making such great progress!  She can now say her name (this is huge!) and is finally pronouncing words that she uses all the time correctly like milk and blanket.  She can say whole sentences now, it’s amazing!  I’ve always loved her personality, but now that she can vocalize her thoughts, it’s even more fun.

Mischief:

“Mom, Lady (but says her name) is the best sister I’ve never had!”

“Oh my gosh, that is disgusting!”

“I pooped two times last morning.  Can you believe that mom?  Two times!”  Why thank you Mischief for the info on your bowel movements.  And everything happened “last morning”

“Miss Rachel, my mom freaks out at Walmart because they don’t have anything she needs!”  It’s true.

We were telling each other our dreams.  I told him how I had a dream that I was in a fancy restaurant.  Every time they would bring me my food, they would take it away again before I could eat it.  He says as seriously as he could “Well you know mom, when you go eat at a fancy place like…. Famous Dave’s, they take away your food when you’re done and throw it away.”

“Grandma!  Why don’t you want to just come hang out with us for a while?!”

I got upset with Lady for being naughty.  Mischief chimes in, “But mom, she’s my best friend!”

“Mommy, I want you to put me to bed because you’re my valentine.”

Baby J is saying “mamama” and I love it!  She also dances whenever she hears music.  She is literally running everywhere she goes.
