Christmas was so fun this year. Mischief and Lady are at such a fun age, and everything felt magical with them. Christmas Eve we went to Hubby’s parent’s house and had a relaxing day until Baby J had her first seizure. It was 3 minutes long and scared all of us to death. We called 911 and spent a couple hours in the E.R. We missed eating dinner with the family, but they saved us a plate and we got to enjoy it when we came back. Baby J is fine, she has had one more seizure since then. We met with a neurologist and it is just something we are going to have to deal with over the next few years until she grows out of this crazy time of holding her breath when she gets upset.
We came home that night and got the kids all ready for bed. The kids loved putting out cookies and milk for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer. We also went out into the front yard and threw “Reindeer Glitter” up into the sky so that the reindeer would see it and come to our house. It was from Lady’s preschool. Cutest idea, the kids loved it! Hubby and I enjoyed listening to Christmas music while we wrapped their gifts and put them under the tree. I was so excited for the next day.
The kids waited at the top of the stairs in the morning and couldn’t wait to see if Santa had come. It was so fun to see their faces when they saw their gifts under the tree. We spent that afternoon and evening with my family relaxing, eating, and playing with our gifts.
Christmas is so fun as a kid. Then you get older and it is still fun, but in a different, not so magical way. Then you have kids and it all comes back! It’s maybe even better now than it was as a kid. Watching them experience the excitement and magic was a blast!
