Baby Shower

Last Thursday, my friend Haley threw such a fun shower for me and baby girl.  Haley is so creative and good at this kind of stuff, it was so much fun!  I’m so thankful for my friends and family who were able to come, and for those who couldn’t make it, we missed you!  We had a great time:

Top: Brooke, Cassie, Mom, Lori, Tara, Jan, Jenny, Adriana

Bottom: Kari, Savannah, me, Shay, Haley

Not pictured because she got a bit lost on the way, and showed up 1 minute after taking this picture: Rachel 🙂

I was joking around before this picture was taken about awkward things I could do with my arm for the picture.  Apparently I stuck with one of the options?

I admit the vain side of me is dying a little posting these pictures of my very pregnant self.  You can definitely see the weight I’ve put on!  Someone remind me to look at this in a couple months when the diet starts!  Great motivation!

Haley’s theme for the shower was “Shower with love” and I thought all the details were so darling.  I especially loved the clouds raining hearts!

We had a lot of yummy food to dip into my favorite, a NUTELLA chocolate fountain!  I was in heaven!  My mom brought the cute cupcakes.

I was completely spoiled by my friends and family with presents.  Baby J now has so many cute outfits to wear, blankets to keep her warm, diapers, bows, towel, newborn photo session by Rachel Flint, sleepers, etc!  And a bunch of friends went in on a Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag for me!  Something I wanted so bad, but would never buy for myself.  And my mom and dad got me a new double stroller, which is so great because my old one is a joke!  My mother in law gave me a bunch of stuff, but one of my favorite things is a blanket that is almost identical to my baby blanket I had.  How awesome is that?  She didn’t even know it was the same pattern.  Really special!

I thought this was the cutest idea!  Haley made each of these blocks (must have taken her so long, I really appreciate your hard work Haley!) and had everyone write a little note to baby J.  They will be in her room for her to see every day, I love them!

I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people.  I have the best friends that are uplifting, great examples to me and so much FUN to be around.  And my family is the best, I got really lucky to be born into my family, and to marry into Hubby’s family.  I don’t know what I would do without these supportive people in my life.  Especially my mom, who I rely on so much these days and is always so happy to help me out.  She’s for sure my best friend and I love her like crazy.  I’m so lucky.

The shower made me even more excited to meet little baby J!  I can’t wait for the moment that she is born and I get to hold her and see her sweet face.  I’m so curious what she will look like.  It’s amazing how much you can love someone that you haven’t met yet, but is growing inside of you.  I’m so thankful for this experience and for this baby girl.

I went to the doctor today, and I’m not making and progress.  Which is great because this means I won’t be going into labor anytime soon, so most likely no time in the NICU!  I’m betting on having a big 8 pound chubby baby!  I admit that I’m in quite a bit of pain these days, and feel like a terrible mother to Mischief and Lady.  I’m so not fun anymore!  Every once in a while I get a spurt of energy and dance with them or play tag.  But for the most part, I’m just in a lot of pain and I know it is going to get worse.  Last month of pregnancy is for sure going to be the hardest I have a feeling.  In 3 weeks I’ll probably be asking the internet world for ideas of how to get labor going!

Physical: Haha, not happenin today.

Spiritual: Scripture study today, I finished the Book of Mormon again recently and am deciding on what to read now.  I started on D&C, and will go with that for now.

  1. Haley did a great job. Everything looks so so cute. I’m so sad I couldn’t make it. Getting excited to meet baby J though!

  2. Don’t baby showers just make you feel loved? I was really worried about my pregnancy weight (both during the pregnancy and for a few months after), but it was definitely pointless worrying. The weight really just comes off eventually if you’re breastfeeding, I promise:) It’s the best diet ever.

  3. It was such a special evening to be with those sweet women who love and adore you and baby J! 🙂 Makes me smile thinking of her reading the little notes on those blocks one day.

And I’m glad your most recent appointment went so well! I totally remember those last few weeks with achey muscles, joints spreading (tmi? Lol) and just want to have my baby out and I’m my arms. You are the best mom to Grant and Aves, and soon your second little girl. 🙂 I’m thinking of you constantly! xo
